What is JPC?

The Justice and Peace Commission (JPC) is a human rights monitoring, advocacy, and civic education organization. “JPC postulates the Christian principles of love, justice, and freedom, and addresses itself to issues regarding social, economic, political and religious justice as well as respect for human rights.” The JPC is a national organization with three independent jurisdictional dioceses in Gbarnga, Monrovia, & Cape Palmas.

What is JPC Cape Palmas Diocese?

The JPC Cape Palmas Diocese has been continually monitoring human rights in the 5 counties of the southeast since 1991. In November 2007, the County Monitors began to serve as Community Legal Advisors.

Where do we work?

The JPC, based in Monrovia, works in every county.

There are 2 JPC monitors in each of the 5 counties of the southeast; Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Grand Kru, & Maryland and Bong County.
